This work is an architectural experiment derived from the Op. series, exploring the essential elements of architecture — the column, beam, and horizontal plane — as a structural and spatial language. Standing beside the existing concrete building that translates a traditional Korean architectural language into modern materiality, this annex seeks both continuity and distinction.
While maintaining a contextual dialogue with its neighbor, the new structure asserts its own presence through a restrained yet contemporary composition. The exterior is clad in softly reflective metal panels, emphasizing modernity and subtle precision. The roof and eaves, finished in matte black, lend visual weight and balance, grounding the otherwise light and reflective surfaces.
A clerestory band introduces natural light deep into the interior during the day, and at night, transforms the building into a softly glowing lantern within the site. The result is a compact yet dignified architecture — one that interprets Korean spatial sensibilities through a refined and contemporary material language.
이 작업은 Op. 시리즈에서 파생된 건축적 실험으로, 건축의 근본 요소인 기둥, 보, 그리고 수평면을 구조적이자 공간적인 언어로 탐구한 결과물이다. 기존 건물은 전통적 건축 언어를 현대적 재료로 해석한 것이며, 그 옆에 위치한 이 별관은 맥락적 연속성과 동시에 독립된 정체성을 추구한다.
새로운 구조는 주변과의 대화를 유지하면서도 절제된 구성과 현대적인 조형 언어를 통해 존재감을 드러낸다. 외장은 은은한 반사율을 지닌 금속 패널로 마감되어 정제된 현대성을 표현하고, 지붕과 처마는 매트한 흑색으로 마감되어 시각적 균형과 무게감을 더한다.
상부의 채광창은 낮에는 자연광을 깊숙이 끌어들이고, 밤에는 내부 조명을 통해 부드럽게 빛나는 등불처럼 공간을 드러낸다. 작지만 품위 있는 이 건축물은 한국적 공간 감수성을 현대적 재료 언어로 정제해 해석한 결과물이다.
