There is a small village surrounded by mountains with rocks.
The project site is located on the higher side of the town.
The design concept is a carved-out rock, that echoes the condition of the site. A form of the mass was offset by the shape of the property lines and a slope of the ridge.
Meanwhile, interior space structured by the orthogonal system carves out mass from the inside. And the internal forces penetrate the rock and make openings.
In response to the serial design process,
each room is identified by a unique slope of the ceilings.
The first floor is designed as a living space for the elderly couple residing here, actively framing views of the surrounding landscape and extending naturally into the outdoor yard. The second floor, more private in nature, accommodates occasional guests. Rather than blocking out undesirable scenes in the surroundings, the design embraces the ever-changing sky, creating a space that fosters reflection and an intimate connection with oneself.
산으로 둘러싸인 작은 마을이 있다.
대지는 마을의 높은 언덕에 위치한다.
산 봉우리의 깎여진 암석처럼,
이 주택은 하나의 암석을 깎아내어 만들어졌다.
집의 모양은 대지의 형상을 따라 여러 각도로 조각되었다.
지붕 또한 배경의 산세에 대응하듯 잘려나갔다.
한편, 거주를 위한 실내공간은 직교체계로 구성되며 암석을 비워내었다. 그리고 내부에서 필요한 조망을 위해 오프닝이 만들어졌다.
일련의 형태 형성 논리에 대응하듯,
각각의 실내공간은 다양한 기울기의 천장으로 조각되었다.
1층은 이곳에 거주하는 노부부 위한 공간으로 외부의 풍광을 적극적으로 차경하고 외부의 마당으로 확장된다. 2층의 공간은 가끔 방문하는 손님들을 위한 방이 있고, 보다 내밀한 성격을 지닌다. 주변의 좋지 않은 장면들을 가리는 대신, 하늘의 변화하는 장면들을 담아내고 온전히 나에게 집중할 수 있는 장소를 만들었다.
